After supper, there will be  an activity for Preschool children and their families or make Advent Candles suitable for elementary age and up, or head to the sanctuary with Pastor Dean and Ned to learn more about our Advent theme  and scriptures.  At 7:00 PM we will all gather in the Sanctuary for a short closing as we  prepare for the Advent Season together in peace.

Advent Organ Recitals

The SCPC Advent Organ Recital series continues in 2016 with three recitals:

  • November 30
  • December 7
  • December 14

The recitals by State College area organists begin at 12:15 pm in the sanctuary.  After a short recital, a simple lunch is provided in the Social Hall.  These recitals are intended to share our fine organ with the community and to provide a time out from our regular schedule for music, quiet an fellowship as we prepare throughout the Advent Season.

Angel Tree 2016

The Angel Tree and accompanying boxes of angels will be on the bridge starting Friday, November 18.  The Mission Ministry Unit of SCPC has collected “wish lists” from several angel treelocal agencies including, Youth Service Bureau, Centre County Women’s Resource Center, Park Forest Preschool, Windy Hill, Centre Volunteers in Medicine, and many others.

We hope you’ll take a moment to stop by the bridge (by the front of the sanctuary) to check out the tree and make a gift to one of these great agencies and the many people they serve in our community.  Detailed instructions for signing up to provide gifts and how to label them will be included in an upcoming bulletin insert and will also be posted by the tree on the bridge.  Please note: If a request asks for several items, you only need to purchase one of the items listed, but you may purchase more if you wish.

Please drop off your gifts to Diana’s office (on the ground floor) or the main office no later than December 12.  The elves will sort and deliver the gifts the following day.

The Angel Tree has been a wonderful mission effort from our church family to the local community for many years.  Please join us and help support our neighbors during this advent season.
