Children who are 4 years old, or turning 4 this summer, are invited, along with K, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders, as we learn about amazing kids doing God’s work!
We will start on June 15th, 2014 with an opening movie for ALL in Room 11 our TENT room. The movie is ALL ABOUT PAUL !
The children will spend the rest of the summer rotating through classes, according to their age group, in rooms 10, 11, and Fireside. We will learn about what Paul might have eaten in our Fireside Kitchen, and about different people Paul met, such as Lydia. Our summer involves learning how Paul started a church, provided comfort, and taught on the Fruit of the Spirit.
On most Sundays we will split 4’s, 5’s, and those who finished Kindergarten in one room; while those who have completed 1st, 2nd, and 3rd are all in the next room. This works well, and the children enjoy the differences that Summer brings. This photo is one of the drawings by Melanie Wassom, bringing to life the “boy who shared his lunch” last summer (2013). Thanks to Melanie and her daughters, Mariele and Lea for their artwork.
We conclude the summer with Sundays devoted to Mission opportunities for children, and then take Labor Day Sunday off.
Parents who would like to volunteer to assist with Summer Sunday School, or with regular Sunday School for Fall 2014 should speak to Deannine Shipman, or to Laura Steager who is handled the teacher’s calendar for us this summer.
