Church Building Summer Hours
Year-Round Office Hours:

As always ~ the most up-to-date information is available here on our website
Assateague 2014: After the worship service and High School Graduations, they travel to Assateague Island National Seashore for a week-long retreat ~ June 15-21. They spend 6 days in their own primitive (limited toilet and cold shower facilities) tent community on the beach. Small group, program time and play are experienced in the sun and sand, and occasionally in the wind and rain. The community takes turns preparing meals in a uniquely equipped Food Tent, which includes a pony-and-weather-proofed-pantry (the rental truck used to transport equipment and gear). This incredible retreat includes fun, intimacy, great discussion, worship, community and sunsets.
Summer FISH: FISH generally meets on a few Wednesday evenings during the summer ~ watch for dates TBA.

PW Strawberry Social
It’s nearly time for strawberries! PW will be hosting the annual Strawberry Social on June 8 immediately following the 10:00 am church service. Barbecued Beef (aka Sloppy Joes) for lunch followed by a dessert of fresh strawberry shortcake!
Don’t miss this annual tradition of fun, fellowship and food!
Children who are 4 years old, or turning 4 this summer, are invited, along with K, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders, as we learn about amazing kids doing God’s work!
We will start on June 15th, 2014 with an opening movie for ALL in Room 11 our TENT room. The movie is ALL ABOUT PAUL !
The children will spend the rest of the summer rotating through classes, according to their age group, in rooms 10, 11, and Fireside. We will learn about what Paul might have eaten in our Fireside Kitchen, and about different people Paul met, such as Lydia. Our summer involves learning how Paul started a church, provided comfort, and taught on the Fruit of the Spirit.
Summer Church Picnic
Plan to attend this year’s Church Picnic sponsored by the Deacons!
We’ll be having an “old-fashioned” church picnic in the afternoon on Sunday June 22nd. The Deacons will be cooking hamburgers, hot dogs and veggie burgers, and beverages will be provided. The rest of the picnic will be pot luck. Stay for the fun with picnic games and activities for folks of all ages!
It will be a great afternoon of fun, food and fellowship – we hope to see you there!

Summer Theater Fun ‘n Fellowship
The Congregational Fellowship Ministry Unit is again sponsoring a summer theater fellowship event. This year we will see the State College Community Theater production of Cole Porter’s classic Broadway musical Anything Goes. It will be held in the Mt. Nittany Middle School Auditorium.
The story of Anything Goes concerns madcap antics aboard an ocean liner bound from New York to London. Billy Crocker is a stowaway in love with heiress Hope Harcourt, who is engaged to Lord Evelyn Oakleigh. Nightclub singer Reno Sweeney and Public Enemy #13 Moonface Martin aid Billy in his quest to win Hope. The musical includes familiar standards such as “Anything Goes”, “It’s D’Lovely,” “Blow, Gabriel, Blow,” “You’re the Top”, “You’d Be So Easy to Love” and “I Get a Kick Out of You.”
The performance begins at 7:30 pm on Friday, July 18; reservations and payment are due by Sunday, July 6. The State College Community Theater charges $16 for seniors age 62+, and $20 for adults age 18-61. The group rate is $18; we traditionally have more seniors attending the theater events so we are just collecting the public price. (If you have season tickets and want to sit with the group, please let Linda Morrow know at 466-7454. Please mail checks made out to SCCT or Linda Morrow to 224 Outer Drive, State College, 16803 or drop them off at the church office by 11:30 am, Sunday, July 6. Jerry Sawyer will be in the lobby of the Mt. Nittany Middle School Auditorium (656 Brandywine Drive, near Boalsburg) at 7:00 July 18 to distribute tickets to the SCPC group.
