On March 17-19, we will welcome Julie Faith Parker to State College for a series of lectures, conversations, and preaching.  Both Dean and Peggy Lindsey were privileged to study with Julie last year for a week-long course at Yale Divinity School.  “She is one of the most energizing and dynamic Bible teachers I have ever experienced,” Dean said.

Julie is ordained in the United Methodist Church and currently serves as an assistant professor of Old Testament at Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Columbus, OH.  She earned her PhD in Old Testament/Hebrew Bible from Yale university.  Her most recent book, “My So-Called Biblical Life” gathers imaginative reflections on Biblical texts written by numerous authors including incarcerated men whom Julie has mentored while teaching Bible at the Sing Sing Correctional Facility in New York.  We look forward to a wonderful weekend of learning with Julie Faith Parker.
