What is Chrysalis?
Chrysalis is the middle-school segment of LOGOS (a four-part program of Christian nurture including Bible Study, Worship Skills, Recreation/Activities and Dinners for Children and Youth in Grades 1-8). The name, Chrysalis, is a nod to this changing time in a child’s life.
Chrysalis youth begin at 5:00 pm on Tuesday and depart at 8:00 pm. There is a “cocoon time” from 4:00 – 5:00 pm in the back of the sanctuary for those youth who arrive earlier because of a GECKO in their family. They visit and do homework, under supervision, until 5:00 pm.
Chrysalis incorporates the four LOGOS times into a different schedule. We’re also a “youth group” in that we have a caring leadership team that stays with the group throughout the night. We start our Tuesday night with a casual singing in Gathering Time (Tower Room). At 5:20 pm, we head to Worship Skills where we prepare to be in worship leadership (about once/month). Family Time begins at 6:00 pm in the Fireside Room, with great food and play around our dinner table. The final hour of our night always involves some play (activity time) and an exploration of Christian practices (Bible Time). Our practices curriculum is based on Way to Live.
Our special events each year include a Fall Retreat at Krislund and a spring Lock-In.

People ask us all the time … “Can we join LOGOS anytime?” The answer is YES ! The Registration and Health Release/Forms will be available online. There are separate forms (Registration and Health/Release). You can print out the forms, fill them out at home, and mail them to the church office with a check, or hand deliver them if you’d like. As always, anyone interested in joining LOGOS during the year can register your child(ren) for LOGOS by contacting the LOGOS Director.
