State College Presbyterian Church charters Troop 32, the oldest continuously chartered Boy Scout Troop in State College, PA which celebrated its 100th year in 2014. Troop 32 is a boy-led scout troop in which the boys plan and
run the program, developing their leadership skills They are assisted in this effort by a large, dedicated group of adult Scoutmasters. Troop members participate in monthly camping trips, an annual week long summer camp and conduct high adventure trips every other year. Recent high adventure trips have included:
· Hiking at the Grand Tetons, Moab, Utah and Canyonlands National Park
· Kayaking in the Florida Everglades and sailing to the Dry Tortugasto
· Canoeing through Algonquin Provincial Park in Canada
The troop’s 2018 summer high adventure trip will include hiking the world-famous John Muir Trail at Yosemite National Park, California.
The troop also coordinates community service and Eagle Scout Projects, leads church service on Scout Sunday, and participates in Juniata Valley Council, Nittany District and troop events. Troop 32 is proud to have honored more than 165 young men with the Eagle Scout Award, the highest award in Scouting, with several Scout currently working on their last requirements towards their Eagle award. All parents are encouraged to participate in one of numerous volunteer opportunities. The Troop also sponsors several family trips each year with the entire family encouraged to attend.
