Young at Heart is a fellowship group for persons age 55 and older.  The group meets monthly, usually on the 2nd Friday of the month, for a pot-luck dinner followed by a program.  All who are “young at heart” are invited.  Just bring a covered dish and your own table service and enjoy an evening of fellowship.  It is a great way to meet other church members and make new friends.

Young at Heart in February

Jill Curley has been a weaver in her spare time since the 1970’s, but it was not until her retirement from Penn State in 2007 that she founded her craft business, SunRoom Studio: Hand Weaving and Spinning in Bellefonte.  Chuck also has a role in the Studio, in business management and computer assisted design.

For our Young at Heart program on February 16, Jill and Chuck Curley will describe and demonstrate this ancient craft of hand weaving.  Their prime focus for the evening will be to take us through, from beginning to end, the design and weaving of the Advent/Lent Banners commissioned a year ago for the Sanctuary. They also created the green banners for Ordinary Time and are presently working on the third pair in the set:  white and gold banners for the Easter season.  Jill will have some small looms with her for anyone who would like to try their hand at weaving!

Come, join in the fellowship, and bring your potluck dish and place settings, as has been done in the past. The evening begins at 5:00 and usually ends by 7:30.
