It’s pretty obvious that we all, or most anyway, enjoy Coffee Hour, even if it’s just to get a coffee hourcup of coffee or tea and wander off to an Adult Ed session down the hall.  For many, coffee or tea is vital.  For others it’s a nice social amenity.  But whatever the need or reason, the Social Hall is always abuzz with good conversation and good cheer between or after the worship services.

Each Sunday the Congregational Fellowship Ministry hosts Coffee Hour between the worship services in the Social Hall.  Coffee, a selection of teas, bagels and cream cheese are offered.  This is a time when congregation members can gather, visit and catch up.

So to make sure this lively part of our Sunday mornings stays healthy, there are a few things you can do to help.

1 – Become a member of the Congregational Fellowship Committee. Its ministry is simply to provide fellowship.  We do this by hosting Coffee Hour every Sunday, providing kitchen help and food for special events like the annual Tailgate, the Hat Dances, staff and member celebrations, etc.  To become a Member-At-Large, simply contact any of the CFMU members or church staff and we’ll get you the information you need.  OR – just come to one of our meetings – the first Tuesday of each month at 7:30 pm.  They’re usually fun and we manage to take care of business quickly.

2Sign up to be a Coffee Hour Helper.  A rotation of Committee Members is responsible for hosting each Sunday, but additional hands are always needed and appreciated.  It’s fun, and a great way to meet new people or visit with friends.

You can sign up using the Signup Genius by going to the bottom of this page and click on “Click Here to sign up…”,  scroll down to the date(s) you want to help and click the “Sign Up” box(es), then click on “Submit and Sign Up”, and then just type your name in the box(es).  The final step is to click on “Sign Up”.

If you’re new to Signup Genius, you may need to open an account or use your Facebook account.

OR – just sign up on the list that’s posted in the Social Hall!

3 – Make donations.  This is the simplest, but just as important way as helping out physically:  put a donation in the donation boxes at least once a month.

For more information or to have someone walk you through the Signup Genius, contact any Committee Member:  Jerry Sawyer, Linda Morrow, Nikki Blake, Linda Margusity, Bitsey Robertson, HJ Matsueda, Jamey Perry, Lynne Verity.  (We’re all in the new directory.)

We have instituted an online sign up to make it easier for you to sign up according to what works for your schedule.  Click below to access the SCPC Coffee Hour Sign-Up page. It’s a fun time for all!

If you have questions please contact Jerry Sawyer, chair, Congregational Fellowship.
